We as citizens of the Rye Brook community have an obligation to promote the welfare of our community and environment for the present and future generations. As I reviewed the plans for the redevelopment of 900 King Street I like to bring to your attention issues that need to be carefully addressed. 1. There is a complete disregard for the concept of Environmental Recycling and reduction of our carbon footprint. There is a complete failure of the developers even consider any constructive use of the existing building to meet the present needs of the Rye Brook community. We need home ownership that will add to a stable and vibrant community. Rentals are transient and often do not lead to a stable community. 2.The Blind Brook School District is noted nationwide for its excellence .The 900 redevelopment will puts this rating in jeopardy resulting in falling house prices etc. Both the Middle and High School butt on Arbor Drive. The noise ,the toxic dirt and vibrations will all effect the students learning environment and health. The students don't need this monumental development in their backyard. There has to be a better way to use the 900 building to meet the community needs for housing. We need to come together as a community to present these needs and ideas and hopefully the Board of Trustees will take the consider this. Joan I.Gourin 65 Greenway Circle Rye Brook,New York 10573
