While I understand that a vacant building is useless, there needs to be more research and consideration for for the project that has been proposed. The size of the proposed community and senior living facility is very large which is concerning for multiple reasons, mainly traffic and the environmental impact. The only access road is via Arbor Drive, which already is the only access point for Arbors residents but is also used daily by middle and high school students walking to and from school. The traffic on King street is already significantly backed up at drop off and pick up time. I can only imagine how bad it will be with a new community of the size that is being proposed. As for the environment, has rain water runoff been looked at the ensure flooding will not occur due to the new construction? I’m also concerned about the health of the families in the Arbors as well as the students attending blind brook middle and high schools. With a project such as this, the demolition will be massive, bringing dirt, dust, and chemicals into the air which we will all be breathing in. Lastly, I’m concerned that an older community will affect the schools as they will not be motivated to improve the Blind Brook School district. A main part of what makes Rye brook a desirable town to live in is the excellent schools. If the school budget fails to pass, and school ratings drop, Rye Brook will be less desirable as a town and all of our property values will drop. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for your concern. Kind regards, Jillian Hochfelder Sent from my iPhone
