Tarlow owns a building lot with frontage of 30.17 feet on the said westerly side of Knollwood Drive , but irregular in the rear. The over- all length of the proposed home, which is to be a one and a half story ranch type, five room, two bath di--relliig with garage attached , is 53 feet, In order to maintain a proper drainage field for his septic talk.-sewer system, the County Board of Health advised hire to place the proposed dwelling a minim=- of 15 feet from the northwest side of the plot , and he therefore re;,uests a minimum of 4 foot variance on the opposite side. The entire building plot contains slightly in excess of the required 103000 feet , but due to the large amount of rack on the said plot the request for variances is made to properly locate the dwelling. Ae Tarlow family has owned t.iis property for many years and has paid taxes on same long before the new building code with its sideline restrictions cafe into effect. I trust the Board will take this into consideration in reviewing this request for a variance. i.=r. Tarlow wishes to break ground and get the construction of this home started before the cold weather sets in, so that your prompt attention to this application will be greatly a.Dpreciated . S. uigel Woodland Drive Port Chester, New York RE: Application for variance - property of: Richard Tarlow. Location: Section I, Black 6, part of Lot 25A .AR lb-Ar/ Dear Sir : I am writing you in your capacity as Chairaan of the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Town of Rye, New York. This notice is to ammend and replace my application of October 8, 1956. 14 client, above captioned, was refused a building permit on a lot on Knollwood Drive in the Town of Rye which he recently received from his father, Jacob Tarlow. The reason for the rejection of his plans by the building inspector was that he did not comply with the 25 foot sideline restridtions which are now a part of the Building Code of Rye . 1- r. Tarlow's building lot is irregular in width and has a great deal of rock and a cliff-like structure in the rear. In order to maintain a proper drainage field for his septic tank-sewer system, the County Board of Health advised him to place the proposed dwelling a minimum of 15 feet from the northwest side of the plot, and he therefore requests a 5 foot variance on the opposite side. The building lot is located on the westerly side of Knollwood Drive and starts 365.99 feet north of the intersection of Betsy Brown Road and Knoliwood Drive. The frontagd of the said lot is 80.17 feet, and the said lot contains slightly in excess of the reeuiired 10,000 square feet, but due to the large amount of rock on the said plot and other irregular physical aspects of the land the requested variance is mandatory for the home which Mr. Tarlow proposes to build. This will be a five room, two bath dwelling, with garage attached, one and a half story ranch type home. Nr. Tarlow's family has owned this property for many years and has paid taxes on same long before the new Building Code with its 25 foot total sideline restriction came into effect. We trust that you will give this request for a variance your prompt attention so that construction of the proposed horae can be commenced before the cold weather sets in.
