Resolutions 000507 MINU'T'ES OR AGENDA MEETING HELD BY THE VILLAGE BOARD ON JULY 81:11, 1965 at the Village Office, 111 South Ridge Street, Rye Brook, aC B:oO P.M. PRESENT: Trustees Cresenzi, Meiskin, Nardi, Zak Treasurer Cortese, Attorney Kramer, Clerk Smith ABSENT: Mayon Kabcenell PUBLIC HEARINGS: BETSY BROWN ASSOCIATES - Continuation from June 25, 1985 In attendance were members of the Planning Board of the Village of Rye Brook, the builder/developer and his attorney, Bruno Giuffre, as well as a number of the residents in the area of Betsy Brown Road. After introductory remarks by Mr. Gioffre, a lengthy, two hour, discusion followed. The residents in attendance, for the most part, favored single home development over the proposed cluster housing. Cited were such con- cerns as flooding, loss of school age children, lower real estate Va.l.ues, increase in traffic on Betsy Brown Road, parking problems, traffic flaw, speed of vehicles passing through, safety of children, and loss of the. �. family atmosphere in the neighborhood. A few of the residents spoke in favor of: the proposed subdivision citing enhancement of the neighborhood. Trustee Nardi read letters submitted by Mrs. Gertrude Storinc and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stephanian, opposing the cluster housing proposal. Letters are annexed hereto. Mr. Gioffre submitted to the Village Board petitions duly signed by area residents, indicating their preference for cluster housing on Betsy Brown Road. Petitions are annexed hereto. Trustee Cresenzi commented that he is of the opinion that the proposed development will have a negative impact on the surrounding homes. Trustee Zak called for a vote on the issue. On a motion made by Trustee Nardi, seconded by Trustee Cresenzi, WHEREAS the applicant for Betsy Brown Associates has not shown that this cluster subdivision would be of significant benefit to the Village of Rye Brook, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the proposed fifteen (15) unit cluster subdivision application of Betsy Brown Associates be disapproved. The vote on the motion was as follows: Trustee Cresenzi voting AYE Trustee Meiskin voting AYE Trustee Nardi voting AYE Trustee Zak voting AYE Mayor Kabcenell - ABSENT The following items were discussed and approved for placement on the A,Tendd of the next Regular Meeting: COMMUNICATIONS: a. Royal Executive Park plan site modification h. Establishment of a Village Court The next Regular Meeting of the Village Board will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 1985 at 8:00 P.M. The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 F.M.
