Dear Ms. Tosun,
The Building Department is in receipt of an application submittal to install a temporary diesel-fired portable
generator at the former Hilton property, a copy of that submittal is attached hereto for your convenience.
Upon review of the submitted materials I offer the following comments:
1. Neither the application nor the submitted materials indicate the reason for the temporary generator
nor the duration that such temporary Lrenerator will be present on the property. Please provide a
narrative signed by the property owner attesting to tie reason for the -
�/2. temporary generator and the removal date of same for review.
Please provide information regarding diesel refueling operations for the generator; methods & means,
fuel-spill prevention/protection, fire prevention/portable fire extinguishers.
4. The temporary generator is proposed to be located within the exterior egress path-of-travel serving
the Rye Town Wings A, B, and C. This is in direct conflict with the 2020 Fire Code. However, since
the building is currently unoccupied the Building Department may consider a special exception
depending on the information provided to items 1 and 2 above.
Please provide the requested information for review.

Dear Ms. Tosun,
On October 17, 2022, the Building Department received an application along with a $400.00 application fee
for a permit to install a 20KW Kohler propane-fired permanent automatic generator to replace the existing
generator. Yesterday I received a call from All County Generators, the name of the generator supplier and
installation contractor appearing on the application, inquiring as to the status of the permit. I informed them
that we were still awaiting further information regarding the proposed size and location of the propane
tank(s), to which they replied that to their knowledge, the proposed generator was natural gas fired and that
there were no propane tanks slated for installation, this despite the information provided on the application.
You and I are now in discussions regarding a temporary generator only, to be placed in service while the
existing generator undergoes repair.
Given the level of confusion regarding this initiative I must insist that the Rye Hotel submit a new Generator
Permit Application complete with a dimensioned site plan which reflects the Hotel's actual intensions, as well
as all pertinent generator manufacturer's literature. We will gladly transfer the application fee to the new
application.
I have attached a copy of the Generator Permit Application hereto for your convenience.

I apologize for not realizing we need a site plan for a temporary unit, and will ask our Architect to provide one asap.

In the meantime, Mr. Manocherian has had this unit delivered for you to see during your visit on Thursday,and can also
have it easily removed if it is not appropriate. It is on wheels and just near the Fire Pump Room where the existing
Generator connection is located.
