Dear Edison Barros, The following violations of the Code of the Village of Rye Brook, and/or the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention & Building Code (NYSUFP&BC) were found to exist at the property above. DESCRIPTION Every owner, tenant, occupant or person legally in possession of real property in the Village of Rye Brook, which property is adjacent to a sidewalk or sidewalk area, either public or private, shall maintain said sidewalk or sidewalks in good repair and shall perform whatever repairs are necessary to cure any defects or deficiencies in said sidewalk or sidewalk areas. You are hereby directed to contact the Building Department, obtain all necessary permits and commence to correct the above-captioned violation(s) immediately. Violations of the NSYFP&BC must completely be remedied by SEPTEMBER 5 2025, which is (30) days after the date of this notice and are returnable at the rate of $1,000.00/day for each day of the continued violation, or imprisonment not exceeding one year, or both. A RE-INSPECTION OF THE PREMISES IS REQUIRED BY LAW TO CONFORM COMPLIANCE WITH THIS NOTICE &ALL APPLICABLE CODES. The Public Works Department has since placed cones at the defect location for safety purposes. The sidewalk Infront of your property is buckled and is unsafe and will require one or more slabs to be replaced. See photo attached and survey. As per code section 186-9 excerpted below the repair and maintenance of this sidewalk is homeowner responsibility. Please obtain a street opening permit and perform the necessary repairs. Please retain a licensed contractor to perform these repairs within 30 days of this notice.
