CC: Date: 7/26/2005 Re: Fire House bathroom repairs Attached are two price quotes received to remedy the leaking and poor draining conditions occurring in both dorm area shower areas. It has been very difficult to obtain quotes from plumbing firm confident and capable to correct the problems, as well as willing to provide general contracting services beyond the plumbing repairs. The prices are significantly different from each, but reflect the same work approach. In the interest of correcting a potentially problematic situation, I recommend we approve using Joseph L. Suppa. He has performed work for the Village successfully and at a reasonable price to the Village in the past. 1 JBSWW L 0AWN AS awlsr iirw P/t t&NOAft ebctar8 Anwf f NFORSVW-PNFMWOK,AirrestW78 Pas8U937-Off- J0521-MV FANOMWera w.c.uce W CmUwwWW40 May 12, 2005 Village of Rye Brook Re: Rye Brook Fire House Men's Locker Room: • Remove existing shower base and piping. • Remove existing tile. • Install a vinyl shower pan throughout shower and drying areas. • Remove existing floor drain& shower drain. • Install new drains adhering to vinyl pan. • Install new tile, and grout. Carosi, P.E. E C E RE: Remaining Work--Rye Brook Fire House t APR -- 4 2005 Dear Mr. Carosi, VILLAGE OF RYE BROOK BUILDING DEPT. This letter is in response to the memo I received, dated March 29, 2005. To begin with, the correction of the control wiring between the generator and panel to indicate status of the generator utilizing the retainage money currently due me to complete this work is an absolute fabrication by Mr. Solomon. Immediately upon receipt of this memo, I telephoned Silvio indicating he had fabricated the entire scenario. To add insult to injury, my November requisition still remains unpaid and is the reason the project was "on hold" for nonpayment. I indicated to him that upon receipt of a check for previous work completed, I would then proceed with the work as described above. Please contact me to schedule the completion of this work and also indicate as to when I may expect the November requisition payment. To add insult to injury, my November requisition still remains unpaid and is the reason the project was "on hold"for nonpayment. I indicated to him that upon receipt of a check for previous work completed, I would then proceed with the work as described above. Please contact me to schedule the completion of this work and also indicate as to when I may expect the November requisition payment. We have called your office many times during the past 3 months to remove the existing propane tanks from our property at 511 West William Street. The facility is available weekdays from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. We are continually told we are"on the schedule;" however, the tanks remain. Please remove the tanks and credit the Village for the unused propane. The tanks must be removed from our property before January 21 or we shall consider them abandoned by your firm and seek other means of disposal. No payment is made on the account, as we are expecting a full credit for the 157 gallons of propane delivered on October 28, plus any additional propane that remains unused in the tanks. There are NO Emergency Services Personnel in this building during those hours. Please see the Police Department next door for any Emergencies. We would like 1 sign placed on the main door facing Village Hall, and another on the King Street-side walk-in door. Thank you. Sincerely, yr Matthew Donovan VILLAGE OF RYE BROOK BUILDING DEPARTMENT 938 KING STREET RYE BROOK,NY 10573 (914)939-0753 Phone (914)939-5801 Fax Memo To: Victor Carosi, Village Engineer From: Michael J. Izzo, Acting Building Inspector ZZ CC: Chris Bradbury, Village Administrator; RBFD Date: 10/19/04 Re: Rye Brook Fire House/Apparatus Exit at King Street Victor, It is becoming apparent that there is a need for proper signage as well as high-visibility driveway striping alerting motorists traveling along King Street; 1. Not to block the apparatus bay egress when King St. traffic is backed up to, or beyond this point. 2. Not to enter, turn around in, stop or park in this area at any time for any reason. 3. Where to enter Village Hall & the Police Station. 4. The diagonal road striping at the North side of this exit should be reconfigured to allow for the wider turn needed when Ladder 30 enters King Street heading North. Please review these concerns with the RBFD for input as how best to proceed. Thanks, Mickey
