The former location of the tank and progression of the tank abandonment process is shown in Site Photographs enclosed with this letter. The area above the tank was cut and jackhammered to loosen and remove the concrete landing.The area was hand excavated to expose the top of the tank; after accessing the top of the tank, it was cut open. Using a vacuum truck,all liquid contents were pumped and cleaned from the tank for disposal by Enviroshield,Inc.,a State of New York licensed waste transporter at Safety-Kleen Systems, Inc., 120 Forbes Street, New Haven, Connecticut,a licensed waste facility.Attached is a copy of the waste transport bill of lading. A hole was cored through the bottom of the cleaned tank;two(2)soil samples(identified as HP1 Tank Bottom 7 ft. and HP2 Tank Bottom 7 ft.) were collected from beneath the tank and submitted to Complete Environmental Testing(CET) a State of New York certified environmental laboratory for analysis by STARS 8260 and 8270. Consistent with NYS-DEC requirements, these are the required soil analyses in New York State. As indicated in the attached Complete Environmental Testing (CET) report #25C0315, the reported results for the samples tested are below the laboratory detection limit for all the constituents tested; no petroleum was detected within either sample. On March 19,2025, the tank was filled with five(5) tons of 1.25"process,an inert material,up to the bottom of the concrete landing(which will be restored by others) to complete the abandonment. The tank abandonment was performed in a manner consistent with industry standards and in compliance with all Local,State and Federal Codes and Regulations.
