RE: RB-2024-015 Fence and commercial vehicle in driveway
Dear Brian Sury,
The following violations of the Code of the Village of Rye Brook, and/or the New York State Uniform Fire
Prevention & Building Code (NYSUFP&BC)were found to exist at the property above.
DESCRIPTION
All fences, landscape walls and retaining walls shall be maintained by the property owner in a
structurally sound manner and in good repair at all times.
You are hereby directed to contact the Building Department, obtain all necessary permits and commence to
correct the above-captioned violation(s) immediately. Violations of the NSYFP&BC must completely be remedied
by November 11, 2024, which is (30) days after the date of this notice and are returnable at the rate of
$1,000.00/day for each day of the continued violation, or imprisonment not exceeding one year, or both.
A RE-INSPECTION OF THE PREMISES IS REQUIRED BY LAW TO CONFORM COMPLIANCE WITH THIS
NOTICE & ALL APPLICABLE CODES.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS NOTICE IS A CRIME PUNISHABLE BY FINE, IMPRISONMENT OR
BOTH.

Good Morning again Mr. Gillespie,
Just to be clear,the neighbors fence is not supposed to be able to contain you dog.To contain your dog you will need to
file a permit
to put up your own fence,and any fence on your property. If the neighbors fence is old it can remail as is, however if it
has a hole in it,
we will ask him to patch it.Yet his fence can't be a protection barrier for your dog.

Forgive the additional follow up but failed to include in my previous e-mail that my dog was able to escape several times
due to holes/loose boards in the fence. My attempts at creating a barrier is failing due to the 60 year old fence.

I am contacting you regarding a neighbor who contacts your department regularly about other neighbors, home
owners at 9 Sunset Road. This owner(9 Sunset) allows his son to park his construction vehicle in his driveway while
not in use.
In addition the neighbors fence that divides our properties has not been kept up and is in need of replacement or
repair.
Please let me know how we can remedy these issues as I cannot do this alone. The neighbor is very
confrontational and has a history in the neighborhood as being very difficult to communicate with.

Ok, if the van is there regularly, I'll have the police Department drive through the neighborhood at night for a week
straight.
Then based on their report and your complaint,we will issue notices of violation to the properties with the commercial
vehicles
including the Van and SUNRUN vehicle

The van is parked overnight and no the resident's son doesn't live there.
The SunRun vehicle is rarely there as he keeps that at his employer's site. If he works past normal hours he comes home
with it,few and far betweeen
