Subject: RE: 525 Ellendale Avenue
Ms. Knowles,
On March 14,2008 the Building Department received a complaint regarding the vacant property on
Ellendale Avenue behind the bank parking lot and adjacent to 525. The complaint form does not reflect
that the complaint came from you. At that time, the Village Assistant Building Inspector was dispatched
to contact the owners of both unsightly properties; Hudson City Bank, and Mr. Lou Larizza. Both were
notified that the property was in need of attention, and both did comply by cleaning up the area.
If the properties in question have returned to an unsatisfactory condition,we will once again compel the
property owners to properly maintain their properties as per Village and State Property Maintenance
Codes. The new complaint form will contain your contact information as a matter of record and for
follow-up purposes.
I'm not sure what is meant by your comment regarding Mr. Austin, but he was not contacted in this
regard and has nothing to do with the matter at hand.
Thank you and please feel free to contact this office should you require any further information.

Subject: 525 Ellendale Avenue
Mr. Izzo,
Last winter we traded emails about the property adjacent to 525 Ellendale Avenue (just off Ridge Street)
owned by Connie Pennucci. It is now the middle of August and the property looks worse than ever.
Despite the fact that you informed the owner he had to clean up, despite the fact you carboned Mr.
Austin, nothing has been done. Earlier this summer a storm brought down a tree on that property that
lay across the hedge and the sidewalk. It took weeks for the owner to remove it. The gate to the
property is open, there is visible trash and in addition to being unsightly, it is surely a breeding ground
for all manner of creatures. Why hasn't something been done? Surely there must be some building code
that requires maintenance of property. Please let me know what the Village plans to do about this.
