Charlie.
I've had numerous conversations with the Hilton and with S & S Fire Suppression on this specific hydrant. As you know, this is a
new installation that took place last year, (Fire Suppression Permit# 70-04 issued 6/26/07 to S & S Fire Suppression) as the
existing hydrant could not be retrofitted with the proper threads. At the time of install, S & S asked specifically what threads to use,
and a print out was provided to them by the Fire Department. A copy of this print-out is attached to the permit on file here at the
Building Department. The threads were designed and fitted as per FD's instructions so the installer will not cover the cost of the re-
threading. The Hilton claims that the Village is responsible for the wrong threads and therefore will not cover the cost of the re-
thread. After much back & forth with these parties it is apparent there is little I can do short of issuing a court summons.
I would recommend that as Chief of the Department, you contact Mr. Alon Ben-Gurion, Hilton Manager at 934-2500 and spell it out
for him. My next correspondence to them on this issue will be in the form of a summons and that will do little to resolve this problem
in a timely manner, only to drag it out through the court system.

Subject: Hydrant threads at Hilton main entrance
Mike,
The hydrant threads at the above are still wrong,and have not been replaced as requested many months ago.. A simple fix is for
them to contact AAA emergency and get a hydrant thread to 5" storz adapter. This solved the same problem at the Airport.
This needs to be addressed as it has been going on for a LONG time..
