Subject:900 King Street
Hello, Ms. Marshall -
I attended the August 10th Board of Trustees Meeting regarding the proposed 900 King Street construction plans and,
also, previous meetings concerning this project.
I have spoken with several Arbors residents regarding 900 King Street and neither I nor the other residents agree with
the proposed redevelopment plan for that property.
While the present building is of a considerable size the suggested sizes of the proposed buildings are too big for that
parcel of land. The size of that project should be built on a location that will have access to bigger roads such as
Westchester Avenue, Boston Post Road, etc. that would offer better and safer driving and accommodate the volume of
anticipated traffic from the project.
If those buildings were built at 900 King Street the traffic problems on Arbor Drive would be HORRENDOUS! It's a TWO
LANE ROAD with a very slow traffic light at King Street/Arbor Drive. Imagine the in/out flow of traffic from that
proposed development in addition to The Arbors residents, trucks, sanitation, Fedex, etc. There could also be possible
delays in police/fire department responses to emergencies due to a line of cars trying to get in and out of The Arbors
slowing down the main traffic on King Street! In addition, the increase of traffic onto King Street would also have an
effect on school traffic getting into and leaving the middle/high school. Also, I have not heard any discussion regarding
serious traffic situations which should definitely be addressed immediately!
Reconsideration of developing this project at that location should definitely be addressed and done immediately! It is
DEFINITELY TOO BIG for that location and should not be built there!!! It will do nothing to benefit The Arbors and The
Arbors residents!
Thank you.
