Mike .... ....All done.....the gas had been off and the electrical was turned off shortly after you asked us today to turn it off. I will call you again soon to work towards reopening the tennis facility so DCCA can generate some revenue which hopefully comes with property ownership. i Thanks for your cooperation. I have no issue with this response. Please keep in mind that the complaint received was not about grass maintenance. It was about a potential electrical concern at a large commercial facility. This can be a serious health and safety issue and needed a fast response. Mr. Izzo already said that in the future he would attempt to reach you. As I have said in the past, I appreciate your cooperation on some of the other matters, and understand that the facility has had no revenues for some time, but as I have said in the past... with property ownership comes the responsibility to maintain the site and keep it safe for the people on the site as well as those emergency service workers that may have to respond to the site. Working together means working to continually maintain a safe site for all involved. No more back and forth emails please, unless it has to do with the issues on the site. And I told you that I understood the gas feed to bubbles was off and would check on the electrical and would shut it off as you requested if. Contrary to your email, I never said the electrical was off. My point is simply that you have my cell#and an immediate call to me instead of going into immediate emergency crisis mode would be more in line with a spirit of good neighborly cooperation and communication between a taxpayer and the Village of Ryebrook. It would also keep you safe as we do not want you rushing to touch live electrical wires--if you think they are not live. You knew the bubbles were down for most of 2020. If you had a question about the electrical or gas service going to the bubbles, you could have asked us anytime this year. 2 As Chris Bradbury will confirm, you will find me to be very transparent and cooperative if you just communicate. However,we do not appreciate your unnecessarily confrontational tone--It reminds me of your tone about the grass height on our property. If you are looking to work together with us in this difficult time, that is not the way to do it. Please call me as I have left several messages for you. Please note that today's inspection of the Doral Arrowwood campus was in direct response to a complaint we received concerning a possible hazardous condition at the tennis bubble outdoor electrical equipment, not the downed tennis bubbles themselves. Further note that the Building Department has an obligation to respond to all complaints whether anonymous or otherwise. In addition, Village Code grants right of entry onto any property to the Building Inspector or his/her duly authorized designee at any time without the consent of the property owner in cases of emergency. I determined that the complaint concerning exposed or unsafe outdoor energized electrical equipment rose to the level of an emergency and as such I contacted our electrical inspector Mr. McPartland and together we investigated the complaint. Upon inspection and despite your insistence to the contrary, Mr. McPartland and I found energized unsafe exposed electrical equipment at the tennis bubble site. Such equipment has been tagged as unsafe by our electrical inspector and must be de-energized at the source by a qualified Westchester County Licensed Electrician. Upon successful de-energization of same your electrician must schedule a re-inspection of the de-energized equipment and of the power source with the Building Department. Please note that the Building Department will be happy to contact you before visiting the subject property again when it is appropriate to do so, however we will continue to respond to complaints to all Rye Brook properties in the appropriate manner as prescribed by law. They have been down most of the year as you saw in your previous visits... Confirming our call when you were on site today, we will shut off elecitric power to tennis bubbles and make sure gas is shut off. FYI, the bubbles went down because there is no gas to run the backup equipment. We will confirm gas off. The tennis company leasing our facility has not paid rent in over a year. We are proceeding to evict them... as we have a company that wants to lease it and pay us rent. I will be back in touch to work with you and new company to get any necessary permitting done. I am sure we can count on you to work with us to get some of the property up and running. Please let me know if you have questions in future before you visit our property, so I can meet you there. Much more efficient if we communicate and work together. Happy holidays Lloyd Heller DCCA Sent from my iPhone. 4
