We have a number of concerns about the current plan. In this email we will focus on noise and traffic concerns. In regards to during the building phase, we are worried about the noise levels that have been mentioned at Village Board meetings. First, we want to be able to enjoy our home that has many windows without noise pollution. More importantly, our son is going to high school and we worry about the impact of the noise on his education. Construction noise will penetrate the walls of the school and outside classrooms. Additionally, my husband and I are both self- employed working primarily from home and often on the phone. We want to know what will be done to mitigate the noise levels so as not to affect our son’s ability to learn and study and our ability to make a living. The other main worry we have regarding the construction phase is the impact to traffic that construction trucks will cause to Arbor Drive. Arbor Drive is the only route to King Street for residents of the Arbors who are driving or walking and Arbor Drive is how Arbors children walk to Blind Brook MS/HS. I would like to know what will be done during construction to mitigate the affect of traffic on the residents of the Arbors. We also have concerns regarding the end result of the project and the overall impact of the density of the plan. Not only is the number of residents in the given space a concern, but the lack of parking for all the residents, staff, and visitors. Arbor Drive can not be the overflow plan. And, the traffic going in and out will impact the drivers and pedestrians walking Arbor Drive. We would like to know how traffic on Arbor Drive will be contained so as to allow residents of the Arbors to freely ( driving or walking) access King Street. Unless these issues are remedied, the project should not go forward. Thank you, Maggie Levy 914-329-2688
