I have been attending the meetings for 900 King Street redevelopment for the past few years. As a former elected Rye Town Councilwoman and former member of the Port Chester Planning Committee, I sincerely appreciate your efforts into hearing us the residents of Rye Brook and our concerns about the request by the owners of the property for rezoning and construction. It has been no secret that those of us who live in The Arbors, believe that the proposed redevelopment and request would pose a detriment to us, 250 homeowners, as their immediate neighbors, as well as to the integrity of the Village of Rye Brook. Some of the many concerns are immediate with the commencement of construction, that us the closest neighbors, will be subject too. Extreme quality of life disruptions, not for a few days or weeks, but up to a year or two, is a tragedy to us who live here and the Village of Rye Brook. The added proposed density of the project, noise associated with the construction, air quality from demolition and construction, relocation of habitat of animals (to our property most likely) as well as but not least, the traffic and safety concerns have plagued us since this project has been initially proposed. When this property of William Wilson Cook was rezoned in 1973 as a PUD, the village board in creating it designed the mixed use out of concern to alleviate traffic to the co-existents of the PUD. We have heard claims from the developer numerous times about their studies and changed proposals, but all of us who live here, know we will be immediately affected with this development, including the burdens of entering and exiting to King Street which already can be challenging and 2 have not heard any news from the developers thats reassuring to our concerns. It seems as if they, the developers, are un-rattled each time they present and barely change their plans that give us the residents and homeowners, any reassurance. We have seen you the board members requests and again they come back with barely a change. That is not going to be a caring neighbor. In 2020, as our country has lived the past 6 months with the affects of Covid 19, quarantining, illness and deaths, we should all the more be sensitive to quality of life to all of the residents of the Village of Rye Brook and The Arbors. As a resident of a community that is the closest in proximity and that will be most immediately and in the future, impacted by the proposed change to our Planned Urban Development, ask that you protect us from this unreasonable detriment to our residents and neighborhood. Thank you for your consideration. Carol Fischer LaBella
