I have been at 130 Brush Hollow Crescent since 10/94 and prior to that I lived on Winthrop Drive (‘86-‘94). I attended last month’s ZOOM meeting and have some concerns coming out of that discussion. While I appreciate that you are not allowing the construction start time to be moved earlier, and asking the applicant to review the crosswalk on Arbor Drive as currently proposed, there are other matters of concern. As the President of the AHOA, Dan Barnett, mentioned in his comments at that meeting, I do believe that COVID-19 should cause us all to take pause and view this as a change of circumstances and require a new EIS be prepared. The fact that the population who would reside in this development would be a group considered by the CDC and other physicians among the most vulnerable, potentially straining our EMS, Fire, Police and other services, this project may well be beyond what was originally forecast. The size/density of the project concerns me greatly, especially since it has not been reduced to the levels the VPB strongly recommended. From Day One of this project I have had strong concerns of what the access to/from King Street from Arbor Drive will be like, especially during peak rush hours in the morning and evening. Without the development, it is already sometimes difficult to get out of the community with traffic backing up on King Street in both directions. I ask you to think long and hard before you cast your final vote to move forward with this project. As you know, the size/density of this project is unlike anything else in this community and would require amending two local laws pertaining to the PUD. While this is troubling to me as an Arbors resident, I also have great reservations regarding the impact on our Entire VILLAGE and community. I appreciate all that you do for Rye Brook, and hope that you do what’s right for all the residents, and weigh heavily the financial gains against the possible negative impacts on the quality of life for all Rye Brook families. Sincerely, Deb Nanus 130 Brush Hollow Crescent Rye Brook
