However, I have learned that the Village Board is considering changing zoning laws to allow 4-story senior living facilities here in Rye Brook. Aside from setting a bad precedent, with the large Hilton property now closed and ripe for redevelopment, this is becoming an increasingly sensitive issue. With COVID-19 and changing the scenery of our town with large, multi-story developments may (or may not..) be profitable in the near-term. But long-term, large-scale building developments will change the dynamic of our town and cause it to be less desirable to the existing residents of the village. And because it is so large, there may be a desire to convert it to rental housing that is not age-restricted and that would have additional negative implications on the village. Therefore please consider decreasing the size of the building by another 50 units or more, which seems to be around the number of units on the 4th floor of both buildings. This will likely make the entire complex more appealing in today’s market, and a more reasonable venture for all involved. Regards, Andrew Coren 31 Woodland Drive Rye Brook
