Subject: Proposed construction on King Street apartments
Dear Chris,
My husband and I would like to offer our comments and concerns to the apartments being proposed to be built
on King street near the schools. I understand the comment window is until Nov 1st. We were not able to attend
the meeting last night but have the following concerns to the proposal:
1. The units will have up to 600 residents I believe. The increase in traffic on and off the hutch and on King
Street would be seriously impacted. The width of the street is not adequately designed to handle that kind of an
increase in traffic flow.
2. The units are being considered a 55+ community. This would impact our school budget proposals. More
residents in our small community that do not have a stake in passing our school budgets would be detrimental to
future school funding proposals. If our school district ranking declines then that would negatively impact
property values for all residents.
3. The impact of the proposed construction beginning at 7am for 3 years would severely impact King street
traffic. Morning school drop off would be a nightmare for middle and high school parents. The noise from
blasting and construction next door would negatively impact our students during the school day.
Our school is the crux of what makes our growing community unique, vibrant, and a desirable town for families
to reside in. I am not in favor of this proposal to add apartments to King Street.
I hope you will consider my opinion as the town debates the merits of this housing proposal.
Thanks,
Shukti Ghosh
