Subject: Re: Concerns on 900 King Street project
Good morning,
I am a resident of the Arbors in Rye Brook. In addition to all the concerns our board has sent to
you regarding the 900 King Street Project, I would like to express my major concerns here.
I have two school-aged children at home and I am very concerned about the safety of children.
My daughter walks to BBMS every day along Arbor Drive. In November 2017, she was
approached by two strangers on the way walking back. Fortunately she got away from them and
arrived home safely. We have talked to the school as well as the police department about this
incident. If the project starts as proposed, with many construction workers/vehicles on site, I
would imagine the safety conditions will be worse. What will be done by the town to ensure the
safety of middle/high school children?
I am also very concerned about the age limit. What is the rationale to lower the age limit to 55
for senior housing? Nowadays it is very common to have school-age children with one parent of
55. Considering the density of this project in addition to the Sun Home project, it will be a great
burden to the BBMS and BBHS.
Your consideration of our concerns will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Wei Zhao
