Minutes for meeting of September 5, 2012 held at Rye Brook Village Hall
*Meeting called to order at 7:40 PM
*Roll Call: Present: Chairwoman Marcia Teschner, Jack Robinson and Anthony Provenzano
No other persons (members or public) were at meeting.
*Chairwoman indicated that her understanding was that a quorum was present.
*No prior minutes to approve.
*New Business:
Chairwoman explained the history of the advisory committee. Also provided new members with
airport regulations and directed them to Westchester County Web site for more recent
information.
Chairwoman also expressed concern that more members are needed since she may not be able to
attend and commit the time that she has in the past.
Chairwoman then updated new members on the following:
-Jet Blue may have picked up the gates left open by the Airtran/Southwest exit. These slots are
subject to an auction
-Jet Blue flying larger aircraft into airport now.
-A private Boeing 737 does land once a year.
-Westchester County advisory meeting is Sept. 19tH
-Air pollution a concern.
-75% of traffic is air taxi and private aircraft.
-Control Tower is under FAA control not Airport Mgt. Flight paths are a problem.
-Curfew is annually presented in a bill by Nita Lowey but has not passed each time.
-Village Attorney's assistance may be needed when dealing with technical aspects of the airport
regulations and its management.
-Expansion of the airport terminal is currently underway and may increase capacity.
-De-icing facility, one of two, will be operational shortly. Concern with runoff and noise near—
the Blind Brook may be an issue.
Jack Robinson mentioned that the operations per se of the airport should not be a concern unless
those operations impact the quality of life in Rye Brook.
Anthony Provenzano would try to arrange a tour of the airport with the airport management for
the members.
It was agreed that the committee meet monthly for now with the possibility that it meet less
frequently in the future. Next meeting date is set for October 24, 2012 at 730 at Village Hall.
Meeting adjourned at 9: 00 PM.

Meeting called to order at 7:40 PM
*Roll Call: Present: Chairwoman Marcia Teschner, and Anthony Provenzano
No other persons (members or public)were at meeting.
*Chairwoman indicated that was a lack of a quorum.
*No formal action taken at meeting.
Chairwoman reported on the Westchester County Advisory meeting of the week before.
Reviewed notes of Jack Robinson who also attended the Westchester County Advisory
Jeff Rednick submitted certain questions and comments by email.
1. Rye Brook currently has no official policy regarding the airport. Do you want us to?
Chairwoman said that she has a copy of the Rye Brook policy from ten years ago and would try
to locate it.
2. Make sure when writing letters to the county, newspaper, you are speaking individually and
not on behalf of the village

3. Rye Brook is definitely against expansion. But what is expansion? Is adding seating capacity
in waiting rooms expansion?
Or is it just raking customers more comfortable?
Chairwomen and Anthony Provenzano agreed that expansion included capacity increases.
Chairwomen felt that a Rye Brook Advisory committee member should be on the Westchester
committee.
Meeting adjourned at 8:15pm. No new meeting scheduled.
