Meeting commencing at 8pm. Present Harvey M. Schiller, Chair, presiding. Present were Council members: Joel M Simon, Kenneth Heller, Margaret Veith-Heib. Excused: Stephen Lurie and Susan Porto. The Public was invited to attend. Representing the Village was the Assistant Village Engineer, Michael Novak. Purpose of the Meeting: To hear an Appeal of a " Denial of a Permit for Tree Removal' on the residence at 17 Elm Hill Drive--Kopitz. Request is for removal of 2 white pine trees. Due to their status as "protected trees", the request was initially automatically denied by the Village, resulting in this appeal. Minutes of October 3, 2006 meeting was read and accepted. Counsel member Joel Simon was appointed Meeting Secretary. The Appeal for Approval of the removal of the 2 trees was presented, discussed and unanimously approved by the Counsel. At this time the floor was opened to members of the community, who were present, to discuss changes in the Code and other issues of concern to them regarding environmental issues in the Village. A lively discussion was conducted with many of the proposed changes to the Code being discussed and debated. The next scheduled meeting will be announced when the new Tree Code is ready for consideration. The meeting was adjourned at 9:15pm. Submitted by Joel Simon, Meeting Secretary Approved by Harvey M.
