Commission meeting as is by Commissioner Blank seconded by Commissioner Rednick
all in favor.
Report to Commission:
1-Report to the commission that Port Chester passed a resolution on March 22, 2007
requesting assistance in having the state perform a traffic study to consider new traffic
lights at the intersections of King St and (a) Betsy Brown Rd and (b)Quintard/Indian
Roads. The commission is aware that the installation of these traffic lights may cause
residual traffic concerns on King St within the Village of Rye Brook. The commission
agreed to keep abreast of the situation and address any issues as they arise.
2-Director Conroy of the Bright Horizons School located at 38 Bellefair Blvd was
notified by telephone about the request made by residents to use the designated Fire
Lanes to discharge and pick up their children. Director Conroy was told that the Traffic
Commission and Rye Brook Police Department could not condone the illegal use of fire
lanes for the discharge and pick up of children for obvious safety reasons. Director
Conroy was not involved in this request to the traffic commission and agrees with the
commissions standing. This request and decision will be put into writing and sent to
Director Conroy by Sergeant Davison.
Old Business:
1-The request for No parking signs on Mohegan Lane made by Park and Recreation
Superintendent Robert Bertolacci in writing at the 10/16/2006 meeting will be discussed
at the 05/07/2007 meeting. An invitation will be made by Commissioner Blank to Mr
Bertolacci requesting he attend the 05/07/2007 meeting so the commission may get his
input and recommendations. Prior noted invitations were no made to Mr Bertolacci.
New Business:
I-Commission Walter requested that Westchester Ave be checked for fallen trees and
low lying tree limbs that may cause hazardous concerns for motorists. It is
Commissioner Walters concern that motorists traveling on Westchester Ave that are
involved in motor vehicle accidents may be further seriously injured by the unsafe
conditions on the shoulder on the roadway. This condition will be checked by officers
of the Rye Brook Police Department and if necessary notification will be made.
2-The Traffic Commission wishes to be involved in the planning and possible future
traffic concerns for the development of both residential and business structures on
Bowman Ave.
Meeting adjourned: 08:45 pm. Motion made by Commissioner Blank seconded by
Commissioner Rednick all in favor.
Next Meeting: 05/07/2007 at 8:00 pm.
