This task has been delegated to Police Officer Hawkins. Officer Hawkins will
check the listed intersections and return his findings to Sergeant Davison in
writing upon completion.
Old Business:
1- The request for No Parking signs on Mohegan Lane made by Park and Recreation
Superintendent Robert Bertolacci in writing at the 10/16/2006 meeting will be
discussed at the 04/09/2007 meeting. A request will be made by Chairman
Appelbaum to Mr Bertolacci that he attend this meeting so the commission may
get his input and recommendations.
2- Complaints have been made by patrons of the Bright Horizons Nursery School
(38 Bellefair Blvd) about summons issued to vehicles parking in the fire lane to
drop of children at this location. Complainants inquired about allowing these
vehicles to park in the fire lane in the future. We can not condone vehicles
parking in a fire lane in front of a nursery school for any reason. The Bright
Horizons Nursery School has adequate parking located in the side parking lot and
vehicles may stop or stand momentarily in the fire lane for the express purpose of
picking up and/or discharging passengers, but in no way may patrons park their
vehicles in the fire lane. The Traffic Commission requests that Chief Austin of the
Rye Brook Police Department send an official letter to the Bright Horizons
Nursery School addressing this situation. Chief Austin contacted Sgt Davison and
requested that he take care of the official letter to Bright Horizons Nursery School
addressing this situation.
New Business:
1-No new business.
Meeting adjourned: 08:35 pm.
Next Meeting: April 9, 2007 at 8:00 pm.
