Old Business:
1- A request was made by members of the Traffic Commission that further
observation of Knollwood Ave be conducted to determine if vehicles parked on
both sides of the street constitutes a possible dangerous condition for motorists
and emergency vehicles.
New Business:
1- The Traffic Commission discussed the request for the posting of a stop sign on
Pine Ridge Rd westbound at the intersection of Mark Dr. The Commission does
not believe that a stop sign at this location is required at this time. It has been
brought to the commission's attention that a yield sign should have already been
posted at this location as per the village code (240-11). The commission requests
that the yield sign that has been approved for this location be posted and that the
intersection be observed to see if the newly posted yield sign has the desired
affect at this intersection. Furthermore the commission requests that the
overgrown trees and foliage at the intersection of Pine Ridge Rd and Mark Dr be
cut back to increase the motorists line of sight. Motion by Commissioner
Berman, seconded by Commissioner Appelbaum. All in favor.
2- A request was received from a resident about the creation of a stop sign coming
out of Talcott Rd onto Mohegan Lane due to limited sight distance, especially
from driveways. This same issued was discussed and denied at the Traffic
Commission meeting on 02/07/2005. The commission feels that the condition of
this location has not changed since the original request and that a stop sign at this
location will not facilitate the desired affects that the residents are looking for.
Therefore the commission does not feel that a stop sign is required at this
location. Motion by Commissioner Heiser, seconded by Commissioner
Appelbaum. All in favor.
Meeting adjourned: Motion by Commissioner Appelbaum. Motion seconded by
Commissioner Berman. All are in favor 08:47 pm.
Next Meeting: October 5`h, 2009 at 8:00 pm.
