Liaisons: Chief Greg Austin Trustee Marrow Convene Meeting: Meeting called to order by Chairman Blank at 08:10 PM. Visitors: Mr. &Mrs. Michael Hay 4 Wyman Street Ms. Sciandra 2 Wyman Street Approval of Minutes: Motion made to accept the minutes of the 4/06/2010 Traffic Commission meeting as is by Commissioner Heiser, seconded by Commissioner Blank. All are in favor. Old Business: A recommendation will be made to Village Board to consider adding a section to the Village website for the purpose of easily reporting visibility obstructions throughout the Village by residents. New Business: Wyman Street: Catherine and Michael Hay discussed parking congestion on Wyman Street as was described in their letter to the Village dated July 22, 2010. Members of the Commission were asked to review the situation prior to the meeting. Sgt. Arnold visited the area on several occasions and made a written report to Chief Austin. Before the Commission makes a recommendation to the Village Board of Trustees, Chief Austin suggested the Chief of the Port Chester Fire Dept. and EMS be consulted to assess how this parking congestion affects the response of fire apparatus and ambulances. Additionally, Sgt. John Arnold will conduct a traffic study to determine the number of vehicles that travel on Wyman. Once school begins Sgt. Arnold and the Traffic Commission members will observe the school bus access in and out of Wyman. After the data is all collected, the Commission will make a determination at next meeting (October 4, 2010) as to what recommendation should be made to the Village Board 2 of Trustees. Bicycle Lanes Village Board of Trustees referred a letter from Lauren Futter regarding bike lanes throughout Rye Brook. Prior to the meeting, members were asked to review the request and determine if there was an alternative area for bicyclists on local roads. The Commission feels there are no local roads in the Village that could be considered a safe bicycle route. Stop Signs at Whittemore Place and Irenhyl,Whittemore Place and Woodland The Village asked the Commission to make a recommendation regarding stop signs at either end of Whittemore. There is currently no stop sign at intersection of Woodland and Whittemore. Chairman Blank made a motion to add a stop sign on Whittemore and Woodland, seconded by Commissioner Heiser. All in favor. There already appeared to be a stop sign on Whittmore and Irenhyl, but the Commission agrees there should be one there and both should be added to the code. Meeting adjourned: Motion by Chairman Blank. Motion seconded by Commissioner Commissioner Lombardi. All are in favor 09:00 pm. Next Meeting: October 4, 2010 at 8:00 pm.
