Convene Meeting: Meeting called to order by Chairman Blank at 8:01 PM
Approval of Minutes: Motion made to accept the minutes of the 2/6/2012 Traffic
Commission meeting as is by Comm. Zahl, seconded by Comm. Appelbaum. All are in
favor.
Report to Commission:
Old Business: (1) Letter to Homeowner who complained about speeding on Magnolia
will be mailed out by Sgt. Arnold.
(2) Sgt. Arnold will check with Commissioner Heiser about a letter being sent to Village
Board regarding parking on Wyman Street(East of Wyman Street North); Highview
Ave. (South of I287) and Roanoke Ave.(South of 1287).
New Business: There was a complaint about speeding vehicles on Hawthorne Ave.
Homeowner Mrs. Dolce requested the speed limit be lowered on her street. Email
Correspondence fiom Sgt. Arnold informed her that according to Village Law of the
State of New York the speed limits are not able to be lowered on her street. The Police
had monitored the area several times and have reported that most vehicles observed are
operating at or below the speed limit.
A motion by Commissioner Zahl that was seconded by Commissioner Appelbaum that
Oversized Speed limit Signs be posted again on Hawthorne. The motion was passed and
carried.
Sgt. Arnold will attempt to have the Speed monitoring Tubes placed on Hawthorne in
April.
The Radar Trailer will be placed on Hawthorne Ave. in April for a few weeks.No Speed
bumps will be approved in the Village;this has been looked at in the past.
Next Meeting: 6/4/2012 at 8:00 pm.
