Liaisons: ®Sergeant Arnold ®Trustee Marrow Convene Meeting: Meeting called to order by Chairman Appelbaum at 8:05 PM Approval of Minutes: Motion made to accept the minutes of the 9/10/12 Traffic Commission meeting as is by Comm. Brandeis, seconded by Comm Briganti. All are in favor. Motion made to accept the minutes of the 10/01/12 Traffic Commission meeting as is.by Comm. Briganti, seconded by Comm. Gordon. All are in favor. Report to Commission:N/A Old Business: Chairman Appelbaum wants to revisit issues relating to a new traffic signal that was discussed prior to Westchester County completing the road work on South Ridge Street in 2011. Mr. Appelbaum advised the commission that there was discussion about a modification to the Traffic signal. The change was to include a left turn arrow.added to the traffic signal N/B on South Ridge Street at Ellendale Avenue. In addition there was talk about a left turn signal being added exiting Rye Ridge Shopping Center onto N/B South Ridge Street. New Business: Sgt. Arnold advised the Traffic Commission there had been complaints of vehicles parking too close to the stop sign on West Street at the corner of Grant Street. This was malting it difficult for vehicles traveling on West Street to see the stop sign. There were complaints that this created a hazardous condition. A motion was made by Commissioner Brandies that was seconded by Commissioner Gordon to place a "No Parking from here to.Corner" sign on West Street at the corner of Grant Street. This sign should be consistent with other parking signs in the area. All were in favor, motion was passed and carried. Next Meeting: 03/04/13 at 8:00 pm. On Wednesday,January 9 David Burke an I atten e a meeting in t e ie at of Ri ge E en a e an Ridge/Betsy Brown. The meeting was arranged by the county and also included representatives from Con Edison and Verizon who have to move multiple wires to new poles (or on different locations on existing poles). The remaining work is part of the last items left in the county project on Ridge Street(paving, signals, drainage, sidewalks). There have been extensive delays on behalf of the county and its contractors. At Ellendale,the new arm and signals (with turn signals) require moving and raising.wires by Con Ed and Verizon to make room for adequate clearance for the new arm.The new arm is currently being stored on the southwest corner of the Ridge/Betsy Brow intersection, although this may be moved to our highway garage area until it is ready for installation. At Betsy Brown, they have some sidewalk issues, have-to move the Ellendale arm from the ground, and Verizon has to move several wires from two old poles to two ne poles on the NW side of the intersection (adjacent to Red Roof). Then the sidewalks need to be repaired when the old poles are removed. In terms of a timetable, it is not currently available but it has been requested and been promised by the county (who needs the info from Con Ed and Verizon). They appeared motivated to close out the project at the recent meeting. Take care, Chris Christopher J.
