Briganti, seconded by Comm. Russo. All are in favor. Report to Commission: A resident on Ellendale Avenue was in attendance. Ms. Porchi explained that parking on Ellendale Ave is extremely limited. With the addition of the multiple family dwelling she feels it is going to be worse. She also made the following suggestions. 1- She wanted to know if it was possible to make Ellendale Ave a one way street 2- With the possibility of the Traffic Commission recommending a change to the Village code regarding a no parking zone on the South side of the street, Ms. Porchi wanted to know if it was possible to get a few of the spots back on the North Side of the Street. 3- Ms. Porchi explained that when the Village had the new sidewalks put in a few years ago the street became narrower and this is why the parking on Ellendale has impacted traffic on the street. The Traffic Commission did have discussion about the parking issues on the street. Another issue discussed was the possibility of widening the corners of South Ridge Street. When cars make right turn off Ridge Street onto ElIendale Avenue they cross over the double yellow line. This will be referred to the Village Engineer. The Traffic Commission also would recommend that the Village contact Win-Ridge Reality to ascertain if local residents can park in Rye Ridge South over night when parking is limited. Traffic Commission was notified that all signs have been placed in accordance with Parking Regulation on Bonwit Road. Old Business: The Traffic Commission discussed the parking issue on the South Side of Ellendale Ave. Two cars are able to park coming down the hill, but as seen in photographs supplied by Sgt. Arnold, cars are clearly traveling over the double yellow line to pass the parked vehicles. The pictures also show when cars are parked on the south side coming down the hill and vehicles are stopped at a red light on Ellendale Avenue, the space for cars coming off of Ridge Street is limited and very tight. There was a motion by Commissioner Lombardi/Second by Commissioner Gordon to amend the village code to restrict parking on the south side of Ellendale Avenue from South Ridge Street to a point approximately 80 feet east thereof. There is already a parking sign posted 40 feet east of South Ridge Street. This would only extend the no parking zone an additional 40 Feet. The Traffic Commission discussed the Parking Complaint from Talcott Road they received at the 8-11-2014 meeting. After researching the Village code and passed Traffic Commission Meeting Minutes the Traffic Commission will make the following Recommendations to the Village Board: 1)No Parking Zone on the South side of Talcott Road from Lincoln Avenue to a point 295 feet thereof. 2)No Parking Zone on the South side of Talcott Road from #19 Talcott Road to#25 Talcott Road, a distance of approximately 475 feet. 3)No Parking Zone on the North side of Talcott Road from Mohegan Lane to Lincoln Avenue, a distance of approximately 2,270 feet. These three recommendations only add an additional 25 feet to the currently posted signs on Talcott Road. New Business: There was an e-mail complaint and request for a cross walk or a traffic light in the vicinity of 257 North Ridge Street. The Traffic Commission is not going to make any recommendations at this time for a crosswalk or a traffic light on North Ridge Street. A crosswalk on a curved road with limited sight distance would not make it any safer to cross the roadway. North Ridge Street is still a county Roadway. Next Meeting: 12/01/2014 at 7:00 pm. Meeting adjourned: Motion byComm Brigand. Motion seconded byComm. Gordon. All are in favor at 8:10 pm.
