HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-02-09 - Traffic Commission Meeting Minutes Traffic Commission Meeting Minutes DATE 02/09/2015 Village of Rye Brook 938 King St. Rye Brook,N.Y. 10573 Members present on this date: ®Chairman Appelbaum, Commissioners: ® Lombardi, ®Gordon, ❑ Briganti, ❑ Morlino and ❑ Russo Members absent on this date: ❑Chairman Appelbaum, Commissioners: ❑ Lombardi, ❑Gordon, ❑ Briganti, ® Morlino and ® Russo Liaisons: ®Sergeant Arnold ❑Trustee Epstein Convene Meeting: Meeting called to order by Chairman Appelbaum at 7:20 PM Approval of Minutes: Motion made to accept the minutes of the 10/06/14 Traffic Commission meeting as is by Comm. Gordon, seconded by Comm Briganti. All are in favor. Report to Commission: Changed to the Parking Regulations on Talcott Road were passed by the Village Board in November. Highway Department will have to wait until the Ground Thaws out to move the one sign that needs to be relocated. The changes to the parking on Ellendale Ave were passed by the Village Board on 12-15- 14. The Highway Department needs to wait until the ground thaws out to place the new signage there as well. Old Business: Waiting to see what the new construction brings on Ellendale before the Commission decides if there is enough room to move any no parking signage on the North side of the Roadway. New Business: Mr. Wallenstein, a resident on Castle View had complained about the traffic on King Street and requested the Traffic Commission recommend a traffic light at King and Comely Ave. He was informed that there have only been a few minor Motor Vehicle Accidents in recent months. The Roadway is a State Road and any changed top the roadway would have to be done through the State. He will contact state representatives. Spoke briefly about complaint of speeding on Loch Lane. Chief already sent her an e- mail informing her that Speed humps will not be considered on Roadways in the Village. School Superintendent spoke with Bus Driver who does not recall any close calls as mentioned in e-mail from resident. Police will monitor the area and report back. Received e-mail regarding Traffic issues with in the Arbors. The Issues are with parents and students that are blocking the roadway waiting for school bus. It was discussed and it is an Issue the Arbors HOA has to enforce through there Homeowners association rules and regulations. Next Meeting: 04/13/2015 at 7:00 pm.
